End of Life Pet Care
Peak Veterinary Hospital recognizes the importance of providing pets with good end of life care, and creating a comfortable space for goodbyes. End of life pet care options will depend on you, your pet, and their health.
Palliative Pet Care
If your pet is approaching the end of their life, either due to age or an underlying condition, palliative care may be a good option for them. The team at Peak Veterinary Hospital would like to meet with you and your pet to discuss your pet’s daily routines and diet. They will work with you to put together an end of life care plan that will allow your pet to live the rest of their life to the fullest. Your pet’s end of life plan may include changes to their routines, diet, or medication, or treatments such as supportive or therapeutic laser therapy.
The team is here to support and guide you and your pet through this transition.
Therapeutic Laser Therapy
Therapeutic laser therapy has been proven to decrease inflammation and pain, and accelerate healing. For pets in end of life care, this reduction in pain and inflammation can help improve their energy, mood and sociability. Most notably for older pets, therapeutic laser therapy can reduce the pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as infections, sprains, arthritis, and fractures.
Cat and Dog Euthanasia
Peak Veterinary Hospital understands how hard it can be to say goodbye to a member of your family. During this time, it is paramount to Drs. Grandoni and White that the transition for your pet is as peaceful and gentle as possible, without pain, fear or stress. We will support you and ensure that your pet is as comfortable as possible.
Rather than saying goodbye in the medical setting of an exam room, Peak Veterinary Hospital has a dedicated comfort room designed with comforting amenities such as couches, art, and a window with mountain views. This allows you and your family to be together without interruption, in an intimate setting, and focus on being present with your pet when humane euthanasia is needed.
Cat and Dog Cremation
We understand that losing a pet can be hard enough, and that you may not want to deal with any arrangements following the passing of your pet. As such, Peak Veterinary Hospital provides after care for your pet’s body. We also supply cat urns and dog urns on our web store.
